:Insargi:performance:2021:

:Insargi is a portmanteau word derived from the words ‘‘human (insan)’’ and ‘‘exhibition (sergi)’’ in Turkish.
It is when a group of people hold artworks in their hands and stop from time to time, acting as an on-the-go gallery by showing these artworks to a random group of people, having those people meet the artworks thus the artist.:

Art galleries that offer to exhibit my artworks for 7-10 days, on walls that resemble living rooms with low ceilings, charging me at least 500-1000 TL; galleries that do not bother contacting the artist nor the possible buyer/collector after the initial rent payment; galleries that have curators and assistants, who would rather enjoy themselves in the nearest beach if the exhibition takes place at a popular holiday destination; galleries that do not care to write down names of the artworks correctly or even at all…

I refuse you and your approach toward art.

Art continues to exist even when it is not hung on your low walls. As an artist, I take steps to create my own audience, followers, and my-artworks-fans. I take my steps, I stand and wait, and as I am done showing my art, I start moving again. I started Insargi.


Why is Insargi needed? What is the purpose of Insargi?

     Since the galleries, which have been defined, function unilaterally on their own profits, emerging artists who cannot find the platform to exhibit their artworks or do not know how to find it; artists who have tried different ways of exhibiting their arts or do not have the power to try alternative exhibition platforms thus pay big amounts of money to the galleries just to exhibit their artworks; Insargi gives you the chance of displaying your art on your own,
and Insargi aims to damage and break down these pay-to-win systems for good.

Insargi is a type of street gallery. It is similar to the street musicians/buskers who find the chance to reach their audiences by performing on the streets as the solution for the disrupted stage situation in the music industry.  Just like in street music, the artist should be able to display their artworks free of charge, without paying anyone or any institution/organization.
